O jornalista Boris Feldman revelou novidades em primeira mão sobre o Peugeot 208 nacional em seu Blog. O hatch deverá começar a ser produzido na unidade industrial de Porto Real, RJ, nos últimos meses de 2012, mas as vendas só serão iniciadas no começo de 2013. As informações foram reveladas por Frédéric Drouin, presidente da marca no Brasil.
O executivo antecipou também que o modelo não tirará o 207 de linha. O atual hatch atuará no segmento de entrada, enquanto o 208 concorrerá no segmento dos chamados compactos premium.
301 Drouin também respondeu algumas perguntas sobre o 301, que foi apresentado recentemente a será destinado a países emergentes (veja aqui). Segundo o presidente da Peugeot, a planta fluminense não teria capacidade suficiente para produzi-lo. O sedã também poderia ser fabricado na Argentina, mas não há novidades sobre o assunto por lá.
